Brethren,

I hope you plan to be in attendance on June 3, 2008 as our Lodge will be celebrating Junior Warden’s Night. It will be my privilege and distinct honor to occupy the East for the evening. I extend a special invitation to all Junior Wardens in the area to attend. My program is entitled “Two High Speed Masons”.

I remind our brethren to search their hearts, and consider what they want for the future of Henrico Union Lodge. Do you want it to die for lack of nourishment, or do you want it to live, and grow back to its former glory? The Lodge needs money to operate. Currently, we pay $5.66 per month to belong to the greatest fraternity on earth. I'm asking you to increase that amount to $10 per month to belong to the greatest fraternity on earth. Is that asking too much?  I think not! And we need members. Look around you for Masonic prospects. Your grandson, your nephew, your neighbor's nephew, a young man in your church. Ask them the question, "Why isn't a great young man like you in the Masons?" and see what happens. The future of Henrico Union Lodge is in your hands. Don't drop it.

The following brethren are dealing with health issues at this time, and should remain in your prayers. Right Worshipful Larry Hardwicke, Worshipful Harvey Moore, Worshipful Stuart Thorpe, Brother Joe Hardwicke, Brother Corbin Cash, Brother Edward Burton, Jr., Brother Roy Bishop, and Brother Clifford Miller. Please keep all of our sick and distressed brethren, family and friends in your prayers.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ernie Irby

Brethren,

Thank you for your support so far this year. We are endeavoring to make contact with each of our members and to keep in touch with those who are ill and or distressed. Our Junior Steward, Brother Keith Carver recently had his appendix burst and had to have it surgically removed.  After a hospital stay and some extreme discomfort, he is now recovering. Our Senior Steward, Brother Joe Hardwicke is currently dealing with a knee injury that may ultimately require surgery. We wish both Joe and Keith our very best. Worshipful Terry Brown has been reported as somewhat improved. Mrs. Mildred Garrett at the Masonic Home is not doing well and should remain in your prayers.

The following brethren are dealing with health issues and should remain in your prayers. Worshipful Earl Worley, Worshipful Stuart Thorpe, Sr., Worshipful Harvey Moore, Right Worshipful Larry Hardwicke, Brother Corbin Cash, Brother  Edward Burton, Jr., Brother  Roy R. Bishop, and Brother Clifford Miller.  Under the category of good news, we extend congratulations to our Junior Deacon, Brother Matt Stewart, who graduates from Virginia Tech on May 9th with an Engineering Degree. We look forward to having Matt back in Lodge on a regular basis.  Please keep me informed of good
news as well as anyone whom you know that is sick or distressed. I urge you to keep those listed above and all of our brethren in your thoughts and in your prayers. Planning ahead, I ask that you put June 3rd on your calendars as it will be Junior Warden’s Night, and yours truly will be in the East for the evening. The program topic will be “Two High Speed Masons” and I expect a fun and productive evening. Plan to attend, take part in all the good work and fun that our Lodge is enjoying.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ernie Irby

Please notify me your Junior Warden, Ernie Irby of any case of illness or distress.

Please do not assume that anyone in your Lodge already knows about yours or others sickness or distress!

Often times we do not know, and in many cases we find out after the fact.

I encourage you to communicate with us!

When possible, please visit our residents at the Masonic Home of Virginia.
Henrico Union Lodge is proud to be associated with all the residents at the Masonic home
and especially  proud of the widows from Henrico Union Lodge.

We are pleased to attach photos below of some of our ladies that Henrico Union Lodge is proud to  sponsor
at the Masonic Home of Virginia.

Also on this page, you will find an "In Memoriam" list of recently deceased brethren .  We implore you to keep the families of these brethren in your prayers and to contact those family members with words of encouragement as often as you can.

If anyone knows of someone who is sick or distressed, please contact me by e-mail or telephone to let me know.
Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers!
We will post the information here and will try to check up on them.
Remember, if you do not notify us, we may not know.
Please keep us informed.
